Meet Pooja
Before Pooja's Patisserie, there was a little girl in southern India who couldn't wait for a real oven. As a kid, she'd "bake" biscuits the old way — on a griddle, using mud to hold the heat — because she wanted to make something, oven or not.
Her path took a very different turn first: a bachelor's degree in computer science, and years working as a software engineer. Baking stayed a quiet passion in the background — watching Gordon Ramsay and The Great British Bake Off late into the night, teaching herself technique after technique with no plan to ever use them professionally. Birthday cakes for relatives, desserts for special occasions — baking simply because she loved the people eating it.
Then came her daughter's first birthday, and Pooja's first tiered cake. Standing back and looking at it, something shifted — this could be real. Her husband saw it before she fully did, and became the encouragement and support that made it possible. Without him, Pooja's Patisserie simply wouldn't exist.
It opened officially in 2020. Six years and hundreds of cakes later, Pooja is still entirely self-taught, still designs every cake herself, and still works personally with every customer — from the first inspiration photo to the moment the cake arrives.
