A few things to know before we get baking. Most of this is just how we keep your order running smoothly — and we're always happy to talk through anything here.
1. Deposit and booking
To hold your date, we ask for a 50% deposit — that's what officially books you in and reserves your spot on our schedule. If you ever need to cancel, just let us know. More than 7 days before your date, your deposit carries over as credit toward a future order, good for a full year — we'd love to bake for you another time. Within that last week we usually can't return it, since we've held your date and often already bought your ingredients. If something unexpected comes up, always reach out — we'll do our best to work with you.
2. Moving your date
Need to shift your date? No problem at all — just give us at least a week's notice and we'll move things around whenever the new date's open.
3. Final payment
The balance is due at least 2 days before pickup or delivery. Ordering inside that 2-day window? We'll just settle it all at booking. If the balance doesn't come through by the due date we may have to release the order, so please don't leave it to the wire. Repeat customers and corporate accounts — we're glad to set up invoicing on terms, just ask.
4. Design changes
Want to tweak the size, flavor, or design? Of course — just lock in any changes at least a week before your date so we have time to plan and shop for it. After that we'll still try our best, though we can't always promise it, and bigger changes may affect the price.
5. Inspiration photos
Love a photo you found? Send it over — it's the perfect starting point. We'll create our own version in Pooja's style, tailored to your size, colors, and details. It won't be an identical copy of someone else's cake, and honestly that's the fun part: yours will be one of a kind.
6. Delivery and setup
We deliver and set up based on where you're headed, and we'll always show the cost up front in your quote — no surprises. Every tiered cake comes with a printed cutting guide so you or your venue can portion each tier exactly right.
7. Once it's set up
Once your cake is in place and looking beautiful, it's in your hands. We just ask for a sturdy, level table and a cool room — around 73°F (23°C) or below — since cakes are heavier and more delicate than they look. From there we can't be responsible for what happens to it, but we'll always send you off with everything you need to keep it perfect. If anything about your cake isn't right, please let us know the same day so we can look into it.
8. Picking up yourself
Picking up your own cake? Wonderful — just know that once it leaves our hands, it's yours to look after. We'll give you clear care and handling tips so the trip home goes smoothly.
9. Fresh flowers
Want fresh florals from your florist on the cake? Happy to arrange them for a small fee. Just one thing to keep in mind — flowers aren't a food product, so they can carry things like pesticides or garden bits, and we place them with that in mind.
10. Our kitchen and allergies
Everything's made in our home kitchen, which isn't allergen-free — so this one matters to us. We've laid out exactly what we work with, and how we handle allergies, in our full Allergy & Kitchen Disclosure. Please tell us about any allergies when you book so we can be honest about what we can and can't do safely, and let your guests know too. You and your guests matter to us, so we don't cut corners here.
11. Sharing photos
We love showing off our work, so we may photograph your cake and share it on our site or social media. If you'd rather we kept yours private, just say the word — we completely understand.
12. Appointments
Wedding tastings, corporate orders, and in-person consultations are by appointment, so we can give you our full attention. Just reach out and we'll find a time that works.
13. The truly unexpected
We pour everything into getting your cake to you exactly as promised. Very rarely, something completely outside our control — a bad storm, an emergency, the genuinely unexpected — can get in the way. If that ever happens, we'll be in touch right away and do everything we can to make it right.
